Renovating a home on Sydneys North Shore

We often see renovation styles vary depending on the location of the home on Sydney’s North shore. With homes closer to the coast in locations such as Mosman, Kirribilli or Balmoral Beach the renovation design often leans towards a coastal look and feel. This could include the use of natural minerals such as wood and stone into the design, light colour palettes, floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors, nautical accents and linen furnishings. Capturing the coastal lifestyle within all features both inside the home and outside (entertainment decking, pool, tropical garden features).

Whereas home renovations in areas such as Pymble, Wahroonga or Turramurra tend to lean towards more traditional styles to preserve the historical features and architecture of the original home. Whilst modern updates to spaces such as the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry are often applied, we generally see homes in these areas use restoration tactics to hardwood flooring, fire places, window panes and original moldings.

With lots of options to consider when renovating, the final design decision really comes down to the homeowners preference and personal style choices. To find out more on how you can renovate your home give us a call or send us a note via the ‘contact us’ page.
